OHSIG Conference - 2008

The inaugural OHSIG conference is being held in Auckland on the 11th and -12th September 2008 at the wonderful Aotea Centre.
This conference is being used as the tool to launch the OH&S Industry Group in New Zealand.
For the first time in NZ and possibly the world the entire spectrum of OH&S practitioners and providers will be present to network and promote the future of the industry within NZ. This will make significant inroads into the implementation of the Workplace Health and Safety Strategy within NZ.
The conference will be multi streamed with stakeholders all taking an active role.
The objective is to create an industry and thus have better collaboration and coordination for the provision of OH&S services to NZ business. Our track record to date makes for dismal reading. Our death, injury and illness rates are well above other OECD countries. Something must be done. Put simply if we continue what we are doing we will get the same results. We therefore must change the way we design, plan and implement OH&S strategies to get an improved result.
